Peggy Jarvie, Executive Director, Department of Co-operative Education & Career Services, University of Waterloo, Waterloo, Ontario

“These projects were extremely important elements of the overall CECS renewal strategy. BHP brought extensive facilitation and process management skills to the table, enabling us to move the process forward planfully and collaboratively. Much of the work involved extensive stakeholder engagement, which BHP handled with sensitivity at the same time as moving us effectively toward the project deliverables. The partners’ deep experience in the corporate world provided very useful insights to the marketing and organizational challenges CECS faces, and the resulting strategies will continue to move us forward.”

Ron Craig, Prof. of Business, Wilfrid Laurier University

"The School of Business & Economics at Wilfrid Laurier University engaged Bright Harbour Partners to work with the student-run Information Technology organization, PRISM, to develop a strategic plan for the coming years. PRISM wanted to identify major initiatives that would most benefit student members, and also develop and document the strategic planning process so it could be followed in future years. Results were well above expectations -- the ideas generated resulted in key initiatives with great cost/benefit ratios, the students involved gained understanding of the strategic planning process, and the process itself was documented and will be used annually. We especially appreciated the facilitation and guidance provided by BHP; we could not have done it ourselves."

John Haddock, CEO Cambridge, K-W YMCA

“Your assistance was appreciated and got us going on the path we needed to be on. I know that I am a challenging client as I tend to use an ‘emerging approach’ to my processes. You guys always delivered.”

Steven McCartney, President & CEO, Atria Networks Ltd.

“Atria’s business plans called for a unique approach to corporate structure, a move away from the traditional pyramid. Bright Harbour listens well – they got us set to move forward and do so at speed.”

Melissa Watkins. Executive Director, Ontario Farmland Trust, University of Guelph

“On behalf of the Ontario Farmland Trust, I would like to take this opportunity to comment Bright Harbour Partners for your work on our 2008 Farmland Preservation Forum: Land for the Next Generation of Ontario farmers. We were extremely pleased with the professional, yet engaging way you approached helping us design and facilitate our forum. Having handed you an ambitious agenda on a complex and controversial topic, we were impressed with your ability to keep us on track and help us accomplish our goals for the event. In particular we truly appreciated that you managed to incorporate so much flexibility into our agenda for the day, enabling us to respond to the needs of our group as they emerged. It takes great skill to manage a large group this way and we couldn’t have done it without you. Finally, I attribute much of the success of our event to your (Janet Passmore) and Maura Purdon’s ability to listen to our requests, suggestions and concerns and to respond promptly in a way that made us feel we were really being heard. It was a pleasure working with you and I look forward to future opportunities to work with Bright Harbour Partners.”

Cathy Snyder, Vice-President, Special Projects, Kitchener-Waterloo Chamber of Commerce

“Bright Harbour Partners recently assisted the Chamber with our strategy planning process. Their knowledge, expertise, and facilitation skills made this process easy and understandable. They were able to focus our attention which led to the articulation of a concise strategic direction and corresponding goals.”

Joe-Ann McComb, Director, Christopher Champlain Community Centre

“Bright Harbour Partners guided our organization through an exploratory merger with Southwood Community Centre. In this process, it was imperative that both organizations continue serving both neighbourhoods as effectively and efficiently as possible, and continue to meet community needs. This was not only challenging but at times unnerving as it was a process we were not familiar with. The Bright Harbour team was adept at communicating in a language that we could understand. Bright Harbour is an amazing team of professionals. They are grounded in knowledge, compassion and respect. They worked collaboratively with two Boards and staff while providing support for overall merger planning, IT, policy harmonization, financial, marketing and communications. We even stretched to take initial steps in developing a merged strategic plan. They brought new energy to both organizations. And the best part is they are a phone call away!”

Deb Gemmell, Executive Director, Community Support Connections
(formerly Executive Director of RAISE Home Support for Seniors)

“The merger of our four organizations was a monumental task. Bright Harbour Partners instilled us with the confidence that, with their help and guidance, we could accomplish the merger and do it well! In addition to applying their experience and expertise to our situation, they helped us build capability internally. They became caring, empathetic members of our team from Day One, providing their expertise and strong project management when required but always engaging us and being respectful, open and honest. The quality and value of their internal communications support was outstanding and was critically important, enabling us to keep all staff involved and informed.”

Tim Sothern, CA, MBA, CHRP, Partner, BDO Dunwoody LLP

“Bright Harbour Partners has worked with us on four mutual not-for-profit clients who are amalgamating their organizations. Bright Harbour was instrumental in creating and facilitating an extremely effective Visioning session for all stakeholders. The exercises used were both relevant and creative and the outcomes were excellent.

They are also assisting in creating a name for the new agency and then will be subsequently involved in helping to brand the new organization. They have been invaluable in this process.

I would highly recommend their team.”

Pat Carty - Past President of HopeSpring Cancer Support Centre

“On behalf of the Board of Directors of HopeSpring Cancer Support Centre, I have no hesitation to highly recommend the work of Bright Harbour Partners.

Janet Passmore and Maura Purdon worked collaboratively and efficiently with our Board and staff. They designed and led a process for strategy development and the preparation of an operational implementation plan.

We found them to be insightful, knowledgeable, respectful, and thoroughly delightful to work with. Their work far exceeded our expectations and they held the interest and respect of everyone during their time with us.

We hope to draw on their expertise in our future endeavours.”

Jeremy Auger - COO, Desire2Learn Inc.

“We engaged Bright Harbour Partners to develop a company-wide performance management framework as well as design and facilitate two management team planning off-site meetings. Across all three engagements I would characterize Bright Harbour Partners as skilled at hearing our needs, highly capable at working collaboratively with our managers and employees, and committed to delivering timely results. From my perspective, they are extremely professional and consistently meet or exceed expectations."
